Four way Hose Splitters

Four-Way Garden Hose Splitters: Layout and Sourcing

A four-way garden hose splitter can organize several connected watering lines from one suitable supply point. Before specifying one for a retail range or irrigation kit, compare the overall width, outlet orientation, valve access and load on the inlet. Hengxin lists four-way products, but branch movement, connection standards and test performance must be checked against the exact SKU. Share the intended timers, hoses or quick connectors so the assembly can be reviewed as a complete system.

Plan the four connected branches

Map the equipment intended for all four outlets. A row of timers creates a different space requirement from four flexible hoses. For fixed installations, measure the wall, tap and neighboring fixtures. Request a dimensioned front and side view of the proposed model, then add the width of each mating accessory and the room needed to attach it. Do not infer timer fit from an isolated product photograph.

Some designs may use movable branch sections; this must be confirmed by model and tested with the attached accessories. A rotating branch should not be interpreted as unlimited movement or freedom from hose stress. Specify the installation orientation and test it on a sample.

Account for weight and valve access

Four hoses, timers or adapters can put considerable leverage on a tap. The inlet and mounting arrangement should be reviewed for the intended setup, and separate support may be necessary for heavy accessories. Ask the system designer to assess the tap and wall rather than treating the splitter itself as a structural support.

Check the position and travel of each shutoff control. An outlet may be accessible when empty yet difficult to operate after all four branches are fitted. Try the full operating sequence on a sample and record which branches will be open together.

Assess flow under stated conditions

Opening four branches shares the available water supply. A useful model-specific flow record identifies supply pressure, the test fixture, whether one or all four outlets were open, attached hose dimensions and the measurement location. Compare results only under equivalent conditions. The number of outlets or nominal connector size is not proof of a particular flow rate.

Request the narrowest internal passage, inlet and outlet thread specifications, seal details and relevant leakage records. Review finish and marking requirements separately from hydraulic performance. For assortment planning, list each selected model, included accessories and packaging unit so buyers can review costs without confusing variants.

Check four-way installation before assortment approval

Prepare a layout drawing with all four planned accessories. Mark the width of each timer or connector, the hose direction and the space needed to turn every valve. Include the tap-to-wall distance and the height above nearby surfaces. Fit problems found at this stage are easier to address than after printed packaging and mixed cartons have been ordered.

Test an assembled sample with the same outlet combination. Observe whether its own weight and the attached items place an unacceptable load on the tap. If support is required, decide who supplies it and how the user will install it; the splitter must not be described as self-supporting without evidence. Operate the branches in the intended sequence and note any collisions or difficult-to-reach controls.

Where a buyer needs a performance comparison, record one-outlet and four-outlet-open conditions with the same supply, fittings and measurement method. Keep the approved sample, drawing revision and any test report together with the quoted SKU. If the branch geometry changes, repeat the fit assessment.

For a mixed assortment, photograph each approved four-way variant with all controls visible and note whether branch movement is part of that design. This helps sales and service staff distinguish a geometry change from a finish change. Keep the pack contents and part number on the same specification sheet.

Information for a bulk quotation

Send the target country, tap standard, dimensions of any timers or connectors, intended simultaneous-use pattern, required installation clearance and expected order quantities by variant. A simple dimensioned assembly sketch helps identify fit problems before tooling, artwork or bulk packaging is approved.

Buyer questions

Are all four branches independently controlled?

Check the actual valve arrangement for the chosen part. The category name alone does not establish how each outlet opens or closes.

Can the branches rotate?

Only where the specific model drawing and sample show that feature. Confirm its rotation range and seal arrangement.

Will four timers fit side by side?

Compare a dimensioned drawing with the exact timer housings and allow for hand access. A thread match alone is insufficient.

Does the inlet need support?

Assess the combined weight of the splitter and connected equipment at the tap. Heavy assemblies may need separate support decided by the installer.

How should flow be tested?

State supply pressure, connected accessories and which outlets are open, then measure each branch under the same repeatable conditions.

Can a sample be assessed?

Ask for the chosen configuration and a sample plan covering fit, valve operation, leakage and flow. Terms are confirmed in the project quotation.

What information is needed for a quote?

Provide destination market, interface drawing, accessory layout, quantity by SKU, marking and packaging requirements.
